Contrast
The contrast in a dance is a movement that is noticeably different from anything seen so far in the dance, for example the motif could be a delicate and slow movement which is then contrasted by a large and fast jump.
The contrast can be any movement at all, it could be travelling, jumping, falling, turns or a gesture.

The contrast in this dance was where the two dancers were stood at the front of the stage, doing a slow falling movement forwards then they suddenly drop backwards quickly, hitting the floor.
The movements in these dances are very engaging to watch because they are so lively and unique.
I found that with this dance they used a lot of contact work which really seemed to limit the amount of space they were using, this could have been better since such lively movements were used, more of the space could have been used for bigger movements.
